History
"The History of the Formation of this Club is Simple"
Founded by Midwest Visionaries, Ruth Lake Country Club was born in 1922. The idea of Ruth Lake Country Club flourished when nine golf-loving businessmen decided they wanted a four season playground of their own. Over this past century, it has been cultivated into a First-Class beloved destination for Members and their families.
*The History of Ruth Lake has been provided from a compilation of writings found in "The Doings" and the Ruth Lake Country Club 50th Anniversary Book and from writings submitted by Roland Eckert and James Colvin and Robert M. Clubb, former President

During the time of WWII, Ruth lake stayed afloat while many were away at war. This is a Club newsletter from that time.

In 1959 a swimming pool was built and the Clubhouse's porches were enclosed, allowing for larger dining and ball rooms. The addition of the patio and tennis courts were improvements made in subsequent years.
In addition to the pool, the Club calendar was rich with Men's golf outings throughout the summer season.

The caddie program has always been near and dear to the Club. The program has thrived since 1922 through the 60's and still is thriving today. We are proud to have awarded many Chick Evans scholarships over the years.
